if i may say first, thank you so much for submitting a question! unfortunately, i know nothing about sewing. my thimbles have never seen the tip of a needle, except for their annual MTD (magically transmitted disease) blood tests.
card manipulation is a brother art to thimble manipulation. i don't do it because these guys intimidate me (i vouch for the non-spammity of these videos). if i lit fire to the tips of my fingers, i would want my thimbles there to protect me (see link).
